Gingerbread
House Program Information
Welcome to the Boys
& Girls Club of Clifton State Licensed Gingerbread House Day Care
Center. The program is for Fully
Potty-Trained – 3-4 year old children.
We are open 7:30-6:00 pm
Monday thru Friday.
Children
are to arrive no later than 9:15.
Families for reduced rate
fees must provide the Boys & Girls Club with the following information:
a.
Completed Gingerbread House Day Care Center
Application
b.
Copy of Income Tax Return
c.
Welfare Pink Slip of Medicare Card
Without the above
information, we cannot consider your child for the reduced rate.
Gingerbread House is
open all year with the exception of the following holidays:
President’s
Day Last week in
June
Good Friday Last
week in August
Memorial Day Thanksgiving
Day & Friday
Independence Day Christmas/New
Year closing
to
be announced.
Gingerbread House
follows the Clifton Public School calendar for emergency closings (i.e. snow
days) or an emergency early dismissal.
Gingerbread House will be cancelled for the day. Teachers will notify you. Please make other arrangements for your
child.
Parents are required to
sign their child in & out each day with time noted for each. Parents must provide instructions of someone
other than a parent is authorized to pick-up the child.
If your child is absent,
please call the Gingerbread House at (973)773-2697 x 44. Any child absent more than 5 days due to
illness shall not be readmitted without a doctor’s note.
Daily activities include
circle time, music/story, art, housekeeping, block play, outdoor/gym time,
academics, free play, snack and nap.
Parents must provide
lunch in a labeled lunch box. We do not
heat lunch. You may heat lunch at home and put in a thermos.
Morning & Afternoon
Snack is provided. Snack consists of
cookies, crackers, juice, and milk.
Children nap/rest on
individual cots daily after lunch. Each
child must have a blanket/sheet and pillow labeled !!
Blanket,
sheet and pillow will be taken home every weekend to be washed & returned
on Monday.
Parent Volunteers
– during the school year there are scheduled class trips. Parents are asked to
participate by volunteering to chaperone.
A log will be kept of time and activity each parent is involved.
Open House
– Parents are invited to observe the program at any time. New enrollment is scheduled before September
School Year.
Parent/Staff Conference
– Conferences are held semi-annually and/or upon request of parent and/or staff
member.

your right to visit and observe our center at any time without having to secure
prior permission; the center’s obligation to be licensed and to comply with
licensing standards; and the obligation of all citizens to report suspected
child abuse/neglect/exploitation to the State’s Division of Youth and Family
Services (DYFS).
